INKATERRA RESERVA AMAZONICA

Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is a gracious 35-room rainforest lodge, adjacent to the lush Tambopata National Reserve. Remote and pristine, yet easily accessible, this region is only a 35-minute flight from Cusco. The ‘Biodiversity Capital of Peru’ offers a wealth of birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and trees. The reserve offers a range of land and river excursions that introduce guests to the magic of the rainforest. This simple yet gracious, limited-electricity lodge has been an ecotourism pioneer for more than 30 years, promoting innovative sustainable use of the Southern Peruvian Rainforest, and supporting important scientific investigations since opening in 1975.

POSADA AMAZONAS

Posada Amazonas is located two hours upriver from Puerto Maldonado. The rustic eco-lodge offers 30 bedrooms and is ideal for those looking for an introductory experience in the Amazon. Posada Amazonas is located within the territory of the Infierno Community. It is built on a 2,000 hectare, private, communal reserve, which in turn is directly adjacent to the Tambopata National Reserve. The 30 rooms are separated by cane walls and large enough for two or three beds, with private cold water bathrooms. Mosquitos are not a problem around the lodge clearing allowing for this design.
