CAMPAMENTO ORINOQUIA
Campamento Orinoquia lies on the banks of the Orinoco river, between the rapids of Atures and Maipures, and only 20 minutes from Puerto Ayacucho Airport. The fascinating lodge is built on a granite rock with 12 round Indian huts - churuatas - with fans, mosquito nets and cold water bathrooms. A larger churuata, which houses the restaurant, bar and lounge area with comfortable hammocks, invites visitors to enjoy the stunning views. It is the ideal point of departure for a variety of excursions in curiara - a local motor powered wooden boat - or by jeep to see Cerro Pintado, Isla Garcita, Caño Tiburón, Piaroa indigenous communities, Tuparo National Park and the town of Puerto Ayacucho. Ideal for rafting and kayaking.
